Marshes observe 60th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest F. Marsh of Geistown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 7.
Mr. Marsh and the former Marie L. Horrell were married April 7, 1948, in Cokeville, Westmoreland County.
Mr. Marsh, the son of Samuel K. and Pearl (Holby) Marsh, was born in 1924 in Torrance, Westmoreland County.
Mrs. Marsh, daughter of Samuel C. and Margie (Berg) Horrell, was born in 1929 in Cokeville.
Mr. Marsh, a Navy veteran, retired from Conrail after 37 years of service.
Mrs. Marsh worked at Heinz in Pittsburgh. She enjoys listening to citizens band radio and Garrison Keillor’s programs.
Both enjoy playing gin.
They are the parents of four children: Ernest F., and wife, Linda (Wainwright), Virginia Beach, Va.; John C., and wife, Pamela (Siverinac), Windber; Judith (Marsh) Tomkowsky and Havert King Jr., Johnstown; and Roger S., and wife, Corrie (Benson), Ocala, Fla.
There are six grandchildren, Dannielle, Dawn, Lisa, Kayla, Ian and KayLee, and three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Clair and Alaina.
