Hunters mark 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. David Hunter of Johnstown have marked their 60th wedding anniver-sary with an open house at their home, hosted by their children.
Mr. Hunter and the former Leona Strapple were married March 8, 1948, in Winchester, Va.
Mr. Hunter was employed in plant protection for Bethlehem Steel Corp. He served in the European Theater during World War II and was a prisoner of war captured by the Germans.
Mrs. Hunter was a teacher’s aide in the Greater Johnstown School District.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she enjoys reading, knitting and church activities.
The Hunters were volunteers in the Scouting program and active in PTA.
They are the parents of six children: Robert, and wife, Shirley, Lancaster; Bruce, and wife, Donna, Johnstown; Carrick, Houston, Texas; David, and wife, Joyce, Morrison, Colo.; Rebecca Capito, Weirton, W.Va.; and Gordon, and wife, Jill, Scott Depot, W.Va.
There are 11 grandchildren: Jill, Ryan, Rosamund, Benjamin, Allen, Jennifer, Matthew, David, Daniel, Dylan and Cameron.
There is a great-grandchild, Cameron Hunter Lester.
