Michaels note 50th anniversary

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Michael of Johnstown have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception hosted by their children at Anthony’s Restaurant, Geistown Borough.

Mr. Michael and the former Linda Grace Clites were married Nov. 2, 1963, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church by the Rev. Patrick McKivigan.

Mr. Michael was born in Johnstown, son of Akel and Thanet Michael.

Mrs. Michael was born in Johnstown, daughter of Earl and Melva Clites.

Mr. Michael worked for 38 years at Bethlehem Steel Corp. and other related companies. He is a member of USWA.

Mrs. Michael worked in the Greater Johnstown School District cafeteria.

The Michaels attend St. John Gualbert Cathedral and were members of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

They are the parents of six children: Deirdra Michael, Johnstown; Charles A. Michael, New Florence; Andrea, wife of Greg LaMantia, Johnstown; Douglas Michael, Brick, N.J.; Claudine, wife of Thomas Seitz, Johnstown; and Kevin Michael, married to the former Holly Podgorney, Conemaugh.

There are 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
