Balogs observe 60th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Geza F. Balog of Davidsville have observed their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner at the Oakhurst Tearoom.

Mr. Balog and the former Joan Marie Gail were married Oct. 11, 1952, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Moxham, by Monsignor Richard J. Mullane.

Mr. Balog was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Brownstown, son of the late John and Mary Balog.

Mrs. Balog was born May 4, 1933, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Gail.

Mr. Balog is a retired teacher from Forest Hills School District. He is a Navy veteran.

He is a member of VFW, American Legion, Korean vets, Holy Name Society,

Nocturnal Adoration Society, Kinights of Columbus and PGK.

Mrs. Balog is a retired reading specialist at Conemaugh Township Elementary School.

She is a member of Senior Citizens of Hollsopple and Herb Club.

She enjoys sewing, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and herb gardening.

The Balogs are the parents of four children: Kevin Balog, Johnstown; Sharon Balog, Chesapeake, Va.; Eugene Balog, Somerset; and Mary Anne Valdez, Lemon Grove, Calif.

There are four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
