Gritzers celebrate 50 years together

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gritzer of Johnstown have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner hosted by their children at Anthony’s Restaurant, Geistown Borough.

Mr. Gritzer and the former Virginia Lee Kennedy were married April 22, 1961, at Holy Trinity Greek Catholic Church, Conemaugh, by the Rev. John Kolcun.

Mr. Gritzer was born March 4, 1940, in Johnstown, son of Michael and Olga Gritzer.

Mrs. Gritzer was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Johnstown, daughter of Paul and Edith Kennedy.

Mr. Gritzer retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and CamTran.

The Gritzers are members of Beulah United Methodist Church, 716 Bedford St. in Johnstown.

They enjoy family- and church-related activities.

The Gritzers are the parents of three children: Paula, wife of James Lux, Johnstown; Ronald, married to the former Theresa Chunta, Johnstown; and Penny, wife of Jim Miller, Johnstown.

There are seven grandchildren: Carolyn, Ronnie, Michael, Anne and Joseph Gritzer and Alex and Abby Miller.
