Beams to mark 60th anniversary

JOHNSTOWN — The Rev. and Mrs. Donald Beam of Upper Yoder Township will mark their 60th

wedding anniversary with a family retreat hosted by their children.

The Rev. Beam and the former Gail Lees were married July 15, 1953, at Homestead Evangelical United Brethren Church, Johnstown, by the Rev. George Biggs and the Rev. H. Wayne Beam, the Rev. Beam’s brother.

The Rev. Beam is a retired United Methodist pastor.

They are members of Oakland United Methodist Church.

The Beams are the parents of seven children and a nephew who they reared: David M. Beam of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Margaret A. Brown of Rochester; Laura A. Langett of Butler; Joan L. Goss of Berlin; Pastor Timothy A. Beam of Elgin, Ill.; Jonathan M. Beam, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Nancy L. Adams, Gray; and nephew, William Cowan, Johnstown.

There are 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A great-grandchild is  deceased.
