Mr. and Mrs. James Winski of Westmont have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass at Our Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church followed by a reception hosted by their children at Surf & Turf Inn.
Mr. Winski and the former Eileen Popovnak were married Sept. 8, 1962, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Conemaugh, by Monsignor Francis E. Kelly.
Mr. Winski was born May 23, 1941, in Johnstown, son of John and Margaret Winski.
Mrs. Winski was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Conemaugh, daughter of Mike and Pauline Popovnak.
Mr. Winski, an Air Force veteran, retired after 30 years’ service from Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. He also worked at Republic Technologies and the Holiday Inn.
Mrs. Winski retired after 21 years’ service from the Conemaugh Hospital Cancer Registry.
They are members of Our Mother of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church. The enjoy going to oldies concerts and on gambling trips.
They are the parents of three children: Cheri, wife of Mark Berkey, Jerome, and James Jr., married to the former Brenda Fetsko, Westmont. A daughter, Tammi Ann, is deceased.
