Thomas couple observe golden anniversary

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thomas Jr. of Johnstown have observed their 50th wedding anniversary with a get-together with friends in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Mr. Thomas and the former Linda Barefoot were married Feb. 23, 1963, at Bethany Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Joseph S. Donchez.

Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Johnstown, son of Carl Sr. and Louise Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Johnstown, daughter of Glenn and Anna Barefoot.

Mr. Thomas served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Laurel Management Co. He is a member of Alma Lodge 523, IOOF.

Mrs. Thomas worked as the secretary at Memorial Baptist Church.

They are members of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Morrellville.

They are the parents of two children: Carla Thomas, fiancee of Kevin Sorber, Johnstown, and Daniel Thomas, married to the former Nancy Smith, Indiana, Pa.

There are five grandchildren: Everett Courter of Carlisle; Taylor and Ross Thomas of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia; and Ezekiel and Alexis Thomas of Indiana, Pa.
