Wrights mark 60th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wright of Windber have marked their 60th wedding anniversary with a family gathering hosted by their children at Surf and Turf Inn, Johnstown.

Mr. Wright and the former Joanne Phillips were married Oct. 31,1952, at

Evangelical United Brethren Church, now Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Navy.

He retired as chief clerk from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and worked for Somerset County Energy Assistance Program and prepared tax returns for seniors.

Mrs. Wright plays Mahjong once a week.

The Wrights are members of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, where they taught Sunday school for many years. Mr. Wright enjoyed singing in the choir.

They are the parents of four children: Karen, David and Amy, all of Windber,

and Kimberly of Lynchburg, Va.

There are three grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
