Quinns observe 70th anniversary

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Charles Quinn of Beaverdale have observed their 70th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Quinn and the former Harriet Grove were married Jan. 9, 1943, at the Church of the Little Flower, Coral Gables, Fla.

Mr. Quinn worked at Singer Sewing Co. and Prudential Insurance Co.

He served in the Air Force during World War II.

Mrs. Quinn was employed by Lee and Mercy hospitals.

The Quinns are members of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church.

They are the parents of seven children and adoptive parents of one: Eleanor VanTassel of Port Orange, Fla.; Patricia Mencer of Indiana, Pa.; Daniel Quinn of Lancaster; Rose Meier of Beaverdale; Mary Quinn of Niwot, Colo.; Loretta Quinn of Longmont, Colo.; and Laura Werner of Lilly. A son, Charles E. Quinn Jr., is deceased.

There are 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
