Levi couple observe 60th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Levi of Johnstown have observed their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Surf & Turf Inn, Johnstown.

Mr. Levi and the former Anita T. Slomanson were married June 17, 1953, in Berryville, Va., by the Rev. Arthur H. Brown.

Mr. Levi was born July 28, 1928, in Bellefonte, Centre County, son of Leo A. and Beatrice R. Levi.

Mrs. Levi was born March 1, 1934, in Philadelphia, daughter of Aaron J. and Anna Slomanson.

Mr. Levi is an Army veteran of World War II, having served with headquarters Second Brigade, First Cavalry Division, Occupation of Japan. He is retired owner of Levi Paving Co.

He is a member of Home Builders Association of the Alleghenies, where he served on the board. He is a life member of VFW 155; American Legion, Post 849, Johnstown; Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War; and J.A. Campbell Camp 14, Johnstown; and a 62-year member of TPA. He also is a member of Veterans Club of Bellefonte and Galleria Walkers Club.

Mrs. Levi is owner/operator with her husband of Allegheny Mountain Antique Gallery, Windber. She is on the advisory board of Schroeder’s Antiques.

She attended Penn State and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

They are the parents of four children: Deborah Lee Levi Mayberry of Johnstown; Todd J. Levi of Braselton, Ga.; Ricki L. Lorans of Houchton, Ga.; and Jacqueline A. Hahn of Greensburg.

There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
