Blackburns mark 50th anniversary

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Larry Blackburn of Johnstown have marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Surf & Turf Inn, followed by a surprise party, given by their sons and families, at the Boulevard Grill.

Mr. Blackburn and the former Linda Gindlesperger were married Aug. 30, 1963, at Moxham Church of the Brethren.

Mr. Blackburn was born July 21, 1940, in Johnstown, son of Harold and Kathryn Blackburn.

Mrs. Blackburn was born April 13, 1941, in Johnstown, daughter of Merle and Blanche Gindlesperger.

Mr. Blackburn is a retired owner of Friendly City Box Co.

He enjoys golfing, hunting and walking his dog, Belle.

Mrs. Blackburn worked at Sears, Roebuck & Co.’s credit department.

She enjoys bowling.

The Blackburns enjoy attending their grandchildren’s sports and activities.

They are the parents of three children: Lance Blackburn, and wife, Danielle,

Johnstown, and Eric Blackburn, and wife, Linette, Johnstown. A daughter, Lori Blackburn, is deceased.

There are five grandchildren: Luke, Logan, Erica, Trent and Zane Blackburn.
