Mr. and Mrs. George McCombie of Johnstown have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner hosted by their children at the Boulevard Grill, Johnstown.
Mr. McCombie and the former Kathleen Denk were married April 5, 1963, in Winchester, Va.
Mr. McCombie is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired after 37 years’ service from PrePress Solutions.
He currently is a charter bus driver for McIlwain.
Mr. McCombie enjoys trout fishing locally and surf fishing on Hatteras Island and gardening.
Mrs. McCombie was a well-known babysitter for many children through the years.
She enjoys line dancing and bingo.
They enjoy bike riding, playing cards and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
The McCombies are members of St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church.
They are the parents of four sons, Rick, married to the former Michelle Dibble, Elton; Ron, and his late wife, Drinan Harrigan, Cresson; Rob, married to the former Cindy Roberts, Johnstown; and Ryan, Pittsburgh.
There are six grandchildren: Tyler, Jared, Corey, Erica, Colton and Chayce.
