McDannells mark 50th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. James McDannell of Upper Yoder Township have marked their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at Oakland United Methodist Church.

Mr. McDannell and the former Barbara Stombaugh were married Jan. 21, 1963, at Lake Union Evangelical Methodist Church, South Fork, by the Rev. Melvin Thomas, uncle of the groom.

Mr. McDannell was born March 17, 1944, in Johnstown, son of L. Theodore and Kay McDannell.

Mrs. McDannell was born June 14, 1944, in Johnstown, daughter of Elroy and Sara Stombaugh.

Mr. McDannell retired after 30 years’ service from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and 11 years at the Presbyterian Home of Johnstown.

Mrs. McDannell works part time at the Presbyterian Home and also does private-duty care.

The McDannells are members of Oakland United Methodist Church.

They are the parents of two sons, Jim, and wife, Marcy, and Gary, both of Sidman.

There are seven grandchildren.
