Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hershberger of Davidsville have noted their 75th wedding anniversary with an open house at Laurel View Village, Davidsville.
Mr. Hershberger and the former Beulah Eash were married Aug. 21, 1938, in Hollsopple, by Irvin Holsopple.
Mr. Hershberger was born June 21, 1918, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, son of Edwin and Lizzie Hershberger.
Mrs. Hershberger was born April 13, 1917, in Hollsopple, daughter of Jonathan and Annie Eash.
Mr. Hershberger was a coal miner, worked at Grandview Cemetery and Sheesley Construction Co. and was a coal truck driver.
He was a past volunteer at Laurel View Village and was active at Johnstown Mennonite School.
Mrs. Hershberger is a past volunteer at World’s Attic and Laurel View Village and was active at Johnstown Mennonite School. She also is a quilter and letter writer.
The Hershbergers are members of Thomas Mennonite Church.
They are the parents of six children: Joan, wife of Marlin Sala of Gilbertsville, Montgomery County; David Sr., and wife, Sarah, Perkiomenville, Montgomery County; Joyce Davidhizar, wife of Jack Horner, Hollsopple; Dwight, and wife, Joan, Eureka, Ill.; Dennis, and wife, Lorraine, Schwenksville, Montgomery County; and Janice, wife of Bob Seager, Belleville, Mifflin County.
There are 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
