Hockenberrys note 50th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Al Hockenberry of Johnstown have noted their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner hosted by their children at the Boulevard Grill, Johnstown.

Mr. Hockenberry and the former Linda Himes were married Sept. 28, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church, Johnstown, by the late Rev. Andrew J. Rehbogen.

Mr. Hockenberry was born in Johnstown, son of Gordon and Catherine Hockenberry.

Mrs. Hockenberry was born in Johnstown, daughter of Edward and Anna Himes.

Mr. Hockenberry, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, retired from the General Electric Apparatus Service Shop, Johnstown.

Mrs. Hockenberry is retired from The Tribune-Democrat classified department.

The Hockenberrys are active members of Zion Lutheran Church, IOOF Alma Lodge 523 and the William F. Packer Encampment 127.

Also, the former square dancers enjoy bowling, volunteering, water volleyball, photography, cards, traveling and family activities.

They are the parents of two sons: Edward G. Hockenberry, and wife, Jacqueline, Johnstown, and David R. Hockenberry, and wife, Melissa, Friedens.

There are three grandchildren: Olivia Hockenberry, Emily Hockenberry and Tyler Stewart.
