Kmetts celebrate 40th date

JOHNSTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. David C. Kmett Sr. of Conemaugh have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with renewing of wedding vows at St. John Gualbert Cathedral by Bishop Mark Bartchak, followed by a family dinner and a trip to Las Vegas.

Mr. Kmett and the former Lillian Mae Williams were married Aug. 11, 1973, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Conemaugh, by Monsignor Francis Kelly.

Mr. Kmett was born Sept. 2, 1949, in Johnstown, son of Andrew J. Sr. and Anna Kmett.

Mrs. Kmett was born March 14, 1950, in Johnstown, daughter of Harry and Ruth Williams.

Mr. Kmett is employed by NRG Conemaugh Power Plant.

He enjoys his grandchildren, sports and family activities.

Mrs. Kmett is a retired supervisor from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

She enjoys her grandchildren, bingo, casinos and gardening.

The Kmetts are members of the Church of the Transfiguration.

They are the parents of two children: David Kmett Jr., married to the former Angela Birk, Mifflinburg, Union County; and Dr. Aaron Kmett, married to the former Anita Miller, Hagerstown, Md.

There are three grandchildren: Kaiden Kmett, Kolton Kmett and Gavin Parker Kmett.
