Whinnie couple note 65th date

JOHNSTOWN — The children of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Whinnie of Nanty Glo have announced the 65th wedding anniversary of their parents.

Mr. Whinnie and the former Louella Clouser were married Aug. 27, 1948, in East Freedom, Pa.

Mr. Whinnie was born March 11, 1929, in Johnstown, son of the late Thomas and Ruth (Gray) Whinnie.  

Mrs. Whinnie was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Rexis, Pa., daughter of the late Ivan and Minnie (McKeel) Clouser.

Mr. Whinnie worked for many years for Frank J. Castelli Ford, Ebensburg, and retired from Ron Davidson Chevrolet, Ebensburg.

Mrs. Whinnie spent her life dedicated to raising their children.

The Whinnies are members of The First Baptist Church, Vintondale.

They are the parents of six children: Stuart, and wife, Kathy; Karen, wife of Forrest Jones; Charlotte, wife of Bob Gailey; Wayne, and wife, Lisa; and Clifford, and wife, Naomi. A son, Paul, is deceased.

There are 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
