Lockheed Martin closing local facility

JOHNSTOWN — Lockheed Martin Global Supply Chain Services announced today it will close its facility at 210 Industrial Park Road in Richland Township later this year.

The location employs 78 people.

Emily Caruso, a Lockheed Martin spokesperson, said the decision was a cost-saving measure. The company will close operations when its current lease expires on Aug. 31. All local employees will be given the opportunity to relocate to a supply chain operation in Maryland.

Lockheed Martin Aeroparts, which is located at 211 Industrial Park Road, will remain in operation. It employs 344 people.
