Critz confirms that he will run for lieutenant governor

JOHNSTOWN — Mark Critz confirmed today he plans to run for lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania.

The Johnstown resident unofficially made the announcement minutes ago on The Union Edge, a pro-labor talk radio show.

“It's 100 percent; I just haven't made it official yet,” Critz told The Union Edge.

Critz, a Democrat, previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He lost the 12th district seat to Republican Keith Rothfus during the 2012 general election. In recent months, Critz had been deciding whether to run for lieutenant governor or the Congress again.

Both elections are scheduled to take place in 2014.

Thursday's editions of The Tribune-Democrat will have more on this develeping story.
