Charges filed in 2010 Northern Cambria murder

HASTINGS — State police have charged a former Indiana County man in the beating death of a Northern Cambria man two years ago.

The suspect, Sherman Lynn Holes, 42, of Cherry Tree, is an inmate at the Retreat State Correctional Institution in eastern Pennsylvania on unrelated drug convictions out of Clearfield County.

Holes is accused of beating 79-year-old Arthur “Arch” Henry on June 30, 2010, at his Eighty Street mobile home. The victim died three days later at Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown of head injuries received in the brutal attack.

The charges were filed before District Judge Michael Zungali. It was uncertain how soon Holes will be arraigned on the criminal homicide and related charges.
