Stiles withdraws from 12th district race

JOHNSTOWN — Johnstown resident Larry Stiles withdrew from next year’s race for Pennsylvania’s 12th district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday, citing health reasons.

Stiles is currently receiving chemotherapy as part of a treatment for cancer.

“I just have to be able to focus on it. ... The doctors gave me orders,” he said.

His decision leaves Rep. Keith Rothfus, R-Sewickley, as the only Republican in the race.
