Atlantic Broadband has announced its biggest-ever high definition advance with the planned addition of 12 new HD channels in the Johnstown area.
The company also announced a channel realignment that simplifies finding HD programming and paves the way for more high-def channels later this year.
“With Nielsen research showing that more than one out of three homes now have at least one HDTV, the time is right to dramatically expand our HD lineup,” said Atlantic Broadband General Manager Dave Dane. “These new channels bring our total HD offerings to 43 channels.”
As of July 6, Atlantic Broadband will reorganize its channels.
To make finding HD programming easier, most HD channel numbers will correspond with those of their analog versions. For example, A&E, channel 23, will be available in HD on channel 723.
Atlantic Broadband serves more than 150,000 customers in central Pennsylvania. Its regional headquarters are in Johnstown.
