St. Francis University’s Small Business Development Center will sponsor prebusiness planning seminars during August. The seminars are for people interested in opening and operating their own businesses. Cost is free.

Topics will be feasibility issues, marketing, record keeping, business plans, legal issues, regulations/taxes and financing.

• Tuesday: 9 a.m. to noon, Altoona Blair County Development Corp., 3900 Industrial Park Drive.

• Aug. 28: 5 to 8 p.m., St. Francis University’s Small Business Development Center, 117 Evergreen Drive, Loretto.
