Doug Puchko and Kayla M. Puchko recently attended the Disability Income Insurance seminar conducted by Ohio National Financial Services.

The seminar focused on strategies, sales techniques and marketing concepts for income protection insurance.

Puchko Financial Associates Inc. has been affiliated with Ohio National Financial Services since February of 2006.

Physician opens practice in Ebensburg

Dr. James Spinos has opened his practice, Spinos Family Chiropractic in Ebensburg. He specializes in the Impulse technique for back and neck problems.

He is a 1993 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He practiced in Johnstown for the past 20 years.

Spinos is a member of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association.

PICPA elects new officers

Robert G. Okonak, CPA, has been elected president of the Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

Okonak is a partner with Ciocca Benton & Okonak PC in Altoona, where he specializes in real estate, business, tax, accounting and consulting.  

Okonak is a volunteer with the Growth and Relationships for Young Professionals (GRYP) group. Okonak received a bachelor’s degree

in accounting from Susque-hanna University Sigmund Weis School of Business.

Other officers elected are:

Terrilynn Johnson of Hollidaysburg, CPA, president-elect. She is a tax manager specializing in taxation

and consulting for individuals and small- to medium-sized companies with Peterson Accounting Group PC in Duncansville.

She also is chair of the Central Chapter’s Emerging CPAs committee.

In addition to her PICPA volunteer leadership, Johnson is a member of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, GRYP and Women in Business. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from City University, and attended Michigan State University.

Jessica M. Dunlap of Tyrone, CPA, secretary. She is the corporate accounting manager at New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. in New Enterprise.

Dunlap serves on the finance board of Zion Lutheran Church, and is treasurer of the Frankstown Elementary PTO and the Altoona Area Youth Ice Hockey Association. Dunlap is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

Jessica D. Yingling, CPA, treasurer. She is a manager

specializing in auditing and tax with Boyer & Ritter CPAs in State College.

Yingling is the accountant for Northern Blair Relay for Life Committee and an active member of the Bellwood Eagles Relay for Life team. Yingling received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
