Business people: UPJ official earns chancellor’s award

AmeriServ hires branch manager

AmeriServ Financial announced that J. Dolan Vogle of Latrobe has joined the organization as assistant vice president/regional branch manager.

Her office is located in the Ameri-Serv headquarters at 216 Franklin St. in downtown Johnstown.

Vogle will be responsible for sales and service management for half of the bank’s 18 branch offices.

She graduated from the Central Atlantic School of Banking and the Consumers Bankers Association’s Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.

Vogle is a volunteer for the St. Vincent Summer Gala. She is a former board member for the American Red Cross, Westmoreland-Chestnut Ridge Chapter.

Laurel BMW wins corporate award

Laurel BMW of Johnstown was among 32 dealerships nationwide to receive a “Center of Excellence” award from BMW of North America.

The status is awarded to the top performing dealerships of the 338 BMW dealers nationwide, and the achievement is based on high customer satisfaction, outstanding brand representation, operational excellence and profitability.

“Laurel BMW has proved their sales leadership while achieving one of the highest levels of customer satisfaction among BMW Centers in the past year,” the company said in a news release.

Cyber school names curriculum officer

Achievement House Cyber Charter School has announced the appointment of Grace L. Cisek as its new chief curriculum officer.

Prior to joining AHCCS, Cisek most recently served as an assistant to the superintendent, helping to improve PSSA mathematics and reading scores, as well as advanced placement scores. She also was a director of science and mathematics within the Chester and Berks County Intermediate Units (IUs). She started her career teaching in Texas and New York City.

She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Pennsylvania School Boards Association, National Association of Secondary School Principals and National Middle School Association, she is also an instructor at Immaculata University for the Doctoral Program, and at Wilkes University.

Cisek earned her doctorate in education from Widener University.

Surveyor named employee of the year

Jason Deitle, an employee of Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., recently was named the company’s employee of the year.

The son of Sue and Ed Deitle of Geistown, Deitle joined the company in 2006.

He also was awarded first- and second-place awards by South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
