JOHNSTOWN — BASKETBALL

Mount Aloysius beats Frostburg

CRESSON – Shawn Greenfield scored 28 points, and Dillon Bender added 21 points as host Mount Aloysius defeated Frostburg State University 98-76 on Thursday.

Greenfield connected on 9-of-13 field goal attempts. Davario Barksdale added 13 points for the Mount, which improved to 2-1.

Frostburg State junior Jabari Kamau posted a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Kurt Gangler had 19 points for the 0-3 Bobcats.

Penn Highlands wins close game

Penn Highlands defeated Penn State-Beaver 78-75 on Grant Speigle’s 3-point shot with :28 remaining.

Delonte Fennell then made a steal with 2.2 seconds to go, securing the victory.

Javon Graves led Penn Highlands with 17 points, five assists and two steals. Speigle had 16 points and six rebounds while Jermaine Graves scored 12 points and had seven rebounds. Corey Nesmith’s 19 points led all scorers.

The Black Bears will face Anne Arundel Community College at

6 p.m. Saturday.
