UPJ hires women's basketball coach

JOHNSTOWN — Pitt-Johnstown has hired Mike Drahos as its women’s basketball coach.

The former West Liberty assistant coach will lead the Mountain Cats into their first season in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in the fall.

“I am honored to be named the next head women’s basketball coach at Pitt-Johnstown,” Drahos said in a press release. “I want to thank Dr. (Jem) Spectar, Vice President (Amy) Buxbaum and Athletic Director (Pat) Pecora and the search committee for this opportunity, and I am extremely excited to lead our team into a new era of Lady Cat basketball as we join the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.”

Tuesday’s editions of The Tribune-Democrat will look at Drahos and what type of program he helps to build in Richland Township.
