I would like to address the animal- rights advocates. For almost two years, I have been trying to get something done about a dog in Seward that is, more often than not, tangled around a pole and unable to reach food, water or shelter.
I, and numerous others, have contacted Humane Society officials, only to be told that it is not against the law to have a dog tethered outside in the elements.
The food and water issues are never addressed.
The only exception I have seen is on their Facebook page, when they wrote that they could help animals they had placed for adoption because those owners had contracts with them. Otherwise, their response is to “contact your legislators to get the laws changed,” in spite of the fact that Section 5511(c) of the Pennsylvania criminal code states it is illegal to not provide care for an animal.
Therefore, I am asking everyone to contact their state legislators to help these poor, abused and neglected animals, whether it be to clarify these laws for the humane society or to change them.
Don’t put faith in false prophets, fortune tellers
Will the end of the world come on Dec. 21? Don’t believe it.
These fortune tellers and false prophets make a good guess sometimes, but mostly are wrong. Prophets of the Bible disagree with them and they are never wrong.
In order to be excepted as a true prophet, God gave them short-, medium- and long-range prophecies. If the short and medium were correct, then the long range one’s are most likely correct.
For more than 1,000 years there was no Israel. Only after the Holocaust of World War II were they made a nation again.
What is happening in the Middle East, and in Israel in particular, all has been prophesied, with enemies on every side.
There are bad times ahead, but the world will not end.
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:6-8)
Like birth pains, these things will continue to increase.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are about to ride.
The first: White horse – world domination by a man, group or religion.
The second: Fiery red horse – takes peace from the earth.
The third: Black horse – inflation.
The fourth: Pale horse – power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague. (Revelation 6:1-8)
“Because of the increase of wickedness the love of most will grow cold.” (Matthew 24:12)
Many will turn from their faith and love of Jesus, but he alone is the answer.
