Diner surprised by kindness of others
This is to say thank you to the couple who paid for my dinner at a local restaurant. What a pleasant surprise I received when the waitress said that you had paid for my meal.
I hope you enjoyed the pies you purchased for your Fourth of July picnic.
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness toward someone you had never met.
God bless you.
Store, employee went beyond duty
I went shopping at a local supermarket. I had a full day planned, so I parked in front of the store and waited for it to open. I got out of my car and I had my strap with my keys, which I usually wear around my neck, but instead I put them in my purse.
I did my shopping, checked out and went to my car. I began to search for my keys, but they were nowhere to be found. I went back into the store to ask if someone might have turned them in to the lost and found. No luck.
The store owner’s wife looked through my packages to see if they fell in there, and she checked the cashier’s area.
She then asked an employee if she would be kind enough to take me and my groceries home. I couldn’t believe it. The employee not only brought me home, she also got one of the carts we use for taking parcels from our cars to our apartments and put my groceries in the cart. She accompanied me on the elevator and to my apartment, where she went in, unloaded the cart and then put it back where she got it.
I don’t know of any other store that would go to that extent to please a customer. I will shop there exclusively now.
