Dr Keith Roach said in a recent column that for primary care physicians to get “a cut” for their referrals to specialists is illegal. He didn’t say they don’t do it.
There’s legislation out there to make it illegal for doctors to get “a cut” on the prescriptions they write. Drug peddlers (pharmaceutical representatives) will have to just talk to the doctors about the benefits of the drugs. Now maybe we oldsters can reduce the number of those little plastic pill bottles on our bathroom shelves from 12 to 6. Maybe.
Did you ever visit someone in the hospital and watch them wheel these elderly people down the hall for hip surgery and other surgeries and every diagnostic test known to mankind? Don’t let those MRI seats get cold, that’s profit for the hospital.
Oops, sorry, hospitals don’t make profits. That’s why they don’t pay property taxes.
Instead, they make a voluntary peace offering. Shame and compromise.
There you have it. How sweet it is. They say Medicare wastes about $800 million per year on fraud, including unnecessary testing. Imagine that.
We hope all you young, healthy people will sign up for Obamacare so that we seniors can keep this gravy train rolling.
Seek God and believe in him
Many years ago I was down and out. I was broke and had not eaten in several days. I was in a small California town where the natives were very unfriendly to transients.
I asked God for help.
As I walked out of town on a desolate road, out of nowhere an older woman appeared and handed me something. She said, “You need this.” I glanced down momentarily to see what she had given me. I looked up and she was gone. I looked everywhere. She was nowhere in sight.
I looked at what she had given me. It was a Bible tract. I thought there might be some words of comfort that might aid me in my journey to my new life. Inside was a folded $50 bill. Wow. Salvation had come to me that night. God works in mysterious ways.
I believe God answers prayers no matter how desolate we are or think we are. There are no toll-free numbers to dial to contact him directly. I discovered that prayers do not need to be lengthy as long as they are sincere and come from a contrite heart.
I believe that I was contacted by an angel.
Hebrews 13:2 says: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for some have entertained angels unawares.”
I believe God’s redemptive powers are available to everyone at all times. We just have to search him out and believe in him wholeheartedly.
