Grace Fellowship Chapel, 107 Mount Carmel Drive, Ehrenfeld, will hold a girls night out beginning at 4 p.m. today to introduce the projects of the church women.

Church is planning Reach Out Sunday
Tire Hill Church of the Brethren, 665 Tire Hill Road, will hold its annual Reach Out Sunday beginning with an outdoor worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
A picnic lunch will follow at 11:30 and children’s games and crafts will be held at 1 p.m.

Church member to preach trial sermon
Sister Brenda Smith, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, will preach her trial sermon at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church, 639 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown.
A celebration dinner will follow.
Smith has accepted her calling as a minister and will be licensed to preach the gospel.
Abundant Life to have guest speaker
The Rev. Derrick Myers of Fellowship Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C., will be the guest speaker for a prepastoral service of Abundant Life Ministries at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The service will be held in the Sanoma Salon of the Holiday Inn, 250 Market St., Johnstown.
Waterford church books gospel musician
Gospel musician Thomas Shelton will present a concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at The Christian Church of Waterford, Ligonier.
Shelton, an Indiana native, has shared his ministry for 30 years with residents throughout the United States and in 11 other countries.

Diocese to honor married couples
The 39th annual Anniversary Day Liturgies, honoring couples celebrating their first, 25th, 40th, 50th, 55th or 60th anniversary this year, will be held at locations in Cambria and Blair counties, according to the Family Life Office of the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese.
Couples and their families may attend the Eucharistic celebration at St. John Gaulbert Cathedral, Johnstown, on Sept. 21 or at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona, on Sept. 28.
Bishop Joseph V. Adamec will be the celebrant and homilist for both Masses, which will begin at 2 p.m.
A reception will follow each Mass.
Couples who wish to attend one of the celebrations should contact their parish by Wednesday to make reservations.
Gospel music fest at Camp Harmony
The 23rd annual Fall Harvest Gospel Music Festival, featuring a number of local singers, will be held Friday through Sept. 1 at Camp Harmony Campgrounds, Plank Road, Hooversville.
Singing will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and at 1 p.m. on the other three days of the free festival.
Groups and soloists schedule to participate are Promise, Turtle Creek; Crossover Ministries, Mahaffey; Choraliers & Pearl, Spring Grove; Heaven 4 Shore, Oxford; Clowns for Christ, Osterburg; Kent McClain, Johnstown; Threshold, Beaverdale, Free Spirit, Lemont Furnace; Dusty Aleman, Lebanon; the singing ministry of Tom Smith, Sproul; The Fishers, Milesburg; Austin Family, Ligonier; The Masters, Nanty Glo; Hays Family, Ruskin, Fla.; K. Dwayne Kaufman Ministry, Claysburg; The Michael Family, La Jose; Victorymen, Orongo, Mo.; Good News, Kingsley; Last Generation, Somerset; Jake Kopco and Ayden Stiffler, Ebensburg; and New Hope Ministries Praise Team, Hooversville.
The event will be held indoors. Those attending should bring lawn chairs for seating.
A chicken barbecue will be held at noon Saturday.
Smith will conduct the 10 a.m. Sunday service.
Kids Korner, an adult-supervised craft activity program, will be open throughout the weekend. Children younger than 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
A lifeguard will be on duty at the swimming pool and water slide.
Cabins are available for rent, though reservations are necessary.
Festival sponsors are New Hope Ministries, a nonprofit organization; Tire Hill Church of the Brethren; and Camp Harmony.

Community picnic set in Davidsville
Kaufman Mennonite Church in Davidsville will host a free community picnic on Saturday.
The picnic will begin at 4 p.m. with children’s games and horseshoes.
A chicken barbecue will be served at 5.
A goat-kissing contest will be held at 6 and a chocolate chip cookie contest at 7.
Festivities will end with a silent auction at 8.
