Food, fabulous food
The following are menus from churches participating in the Cambria City Ethnic Arts Festival:
St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, 916 Broad St.: Pigs in a blanket, hot sausage sandwiches, Irish stew, potato soup, shepherd’s pie, soda bread and scones, nut and poppyseed rolls, hamburgers and hot dogs. A bake sale and a variety of beverages also will be available.
SS. Casimir & Emerich Roman Catholic Church, 501 Power St.: Fish fry from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. All three days: Haluski, hot sausage sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, kielbasa, gobs, ice cream and beverages.
St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 411 Power St. (served at its Fifth Avenue pavilion): Pierogi, halupki, haluski, goulash, hot sausage sandwiches, kielbasa, hot wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, Hungarian chereghi and gobs.
St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 414 Fourth Ave. (served at Chestnut Street and Fourth Avenue): Halupki, haluski, pagach, pierogi, kielbasa, hot sausage sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers.
Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 308 Broad St. (served at Chestnut Street and Third Avenue): German-style kitchen complete with ethnic delicacies, German pancakes, gobs and apple dumplings.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 711 Chestnut St.: Halupki, stuffed cabbage; palacinke, a tasty crepe; haluski; dumplings; sauteed cabbage; pierogi; hot sausage sandwiches; kielbasa; steakburgers; hot dogs; and apple dumplings.
St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 971 St. Clair Road, Westmont, (serving at St. Mary’s pavilion): Lamb sandwiches, cheese strudel pie and palacinke, which are cheese-filled crepes.
Ace’s, 316 Chestnut St. (serving at Chestnut Street and Fourth Avenue): Lamb dinner, chicken dinner, halupki and haluski, pulled pork, and combo dinners of chicken, halupki, pagach and cabbage and noodles.
