“The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged)” will be performed by the Reduced Shakespeare Company today through Oct. 12 at Mountain Playhouse, Jennerstown.
Showtimes are 2 and 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, 8 pm. Thursdays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $8 to $31, depending on performance day, time, seat location and eligible discounts.

Hallowboo
Hallowboo, a family-friendly fright fest, will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26 at Idlewild Park, Ligonier.
All-day admission is $19.95 for children ages 3 and older. Children younger than 2 will be admitted free.
Discount coupons are available at participating Giant Eagle locations. Season-ticket holders will be admitted free.

Ghoulish park
Phantom Fright Nights will be haunting Kennywood Park in West Mifflin on Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1.
Ghoulish hours will be 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., with a bonus bewitching night from 7 to 11 Oct. 12.
No Halloween masks, costumes or makeup are permitted.
Tickets are $23 at the gate and $20 at participating Giant Eagle locations.

Fright fest
Huston’s Haunted Hollow will bring frightfully good fun to Somerset County today and Saturday and Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1 at 126 Woodland Road, Rockwood.
The scene of the scarefest is six miles south of Somerset on Route 281.
Haunting hours are from dusk to 11 p.m.
Admission is $12 per person for adults and $10 for children younger than 10.
The cost for groups of 20 or more is $10. Groups must be preregistered.

Halloween haunts
Weakland Farms Corn Maze will be held through Nov. 2 at the farm off the Route 164 Portage Exit of Route 219 North.
Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 1 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Admission is $6. Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted free.

The annual Harvest Festival will be held Fridays through Sundays in October at Faranda’s Farm, 1171 Penn Ave., Hollsopple.
Hours are 4 p.m to dusk Fridays, 11 a.m. to dusk Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Special Halloween hours will be 4 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
On flashlight nights, which include Oct. 17-18, 24-25 and 31, Faranda’s will be open until 9:30.
Admission to the maze is $10.

Vale Wood Farms Pumpkin Patch will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Oct. 19 at the farm in Loretto.
Fall Hayride Farm Tours, which stop at the pumpkin patch, will be held Monday through Oct. 17 at Valewood.
Tours are for school groups of at least 15, including adult chaperones, and must be prearranged.
Admission for the tours is $4 per person.
To get to Valewood Farms, take the Munster Exit from Route 22 and turn toward Munster. Follow signs for Vale Wood Road and take the first right.

An Apple Cider Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton.

Festival of foliage
The 44th annual Bedford Fall Foliage Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 11-12 in downtown Bedford.
The festival will feature crafters and food booths along with free musical entertainment.
An antique car parade will roll through downtown streets beginning at 2 p.m. Oct. 11.
A juried fine arts exhibition by regional artists, sculptors and photographers will be on display in the Bedford County Arts Center in the historic Anderson House on Pitt Street.
Parking is available at the Bedford County Fairgrounds on Business Route 30 and at Old Bedford Village on Business Route 220 for a cost of $5 per vehicle.
Free shuttle service will be available between the parking sites and the festival.
Revved up reading
Ride-to-Read Murder Mystery Ride to benefit One Book, One Community reading program will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, with registration at 11 a.m., at Zepka Harley-Davidson, 960 Eisenhower Blvd., Richland Township.
The ride ends at Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, where an original murder mystery will be performed.
Tickets are $10 for a single and $15 for two riders.
Those not riding a bike can participate by paying the fee and receiving all the clues at once.

Swinging singing
“Swingin’ With the ’40s,” the fall concert of Greater Johnstown Community Chorus, will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday at Arcadia Theater, 1418 Graham Ave., Windber, and at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Meth-odist Church, 436 Vine St., Johnstown.
Tickets, which will be available at the door, will be $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and $7 for students.
The beat goes on
A monthly drum circle will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, 411 Third Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

“An Introduction to Medieval and Renaissance Costuming” will be presented by the Society for Creative Anachronism from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the community room at Cambria County Library, 248 Main St., downtown Johnstown.
Musical medley
“Hear Our Voices,” a performance series by members of SongWorks, a community of regional songwriters, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, 411 Third Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.
Performers are Rachel Allen, Denise Baldwin and Ann Bourine.
Tickets at the door will be $5 for a couple and $3 for individuals.

Homecoming holiday
Hooversville Homecoming Days will be held today through Sunday.
Activities will begin with a community service at 7:30 tonight at St. Mark’s Reformed Church on Clark Street.
Saturday’s activities will feature a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. and a historical museum from 8 to 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church, lunch from noon to 2 at the Christian Church and historical items from noon to 4 p.m. at St. Mark’s.
Food and refreshments will be sold at the community building Saturday, and Jim Intihar will play oldies from 5 to 9 p.m.
On Sunday, services will be held at various local churches.
Open auditions
Showstoppers! a song and dance performance ensemble affiliated with Cresson Lake Playhouse, will hold auditions for new members at 2 p.m. Sunday at the playhouse’s rehearsal hall, 526 W. Ogle St., Ebensburg.
Those who audition should prepare 32 bars of a musical theater selection. An accompanist will be provided.

Cresson Area Heritage Days will be held today through Sunday on Front Street in Cresson.

Two films will be shown in honor of Cresson native Adm. Robert E. Peary, discoverer of the North Pole.
“Admiral Robert E. Peary: The Man and His Island” will be shown at 11 a.m. today through Sunday in the visitor center at Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, Cresson.
“Glory and Honor” will be shown at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Room 217 of the main building at Mount Aloysius College, Cresson.

Night walkers
The ninth annual “Light the Night Walk” to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday on the campus of Pitt-Johnstown behind Blackington Hall.
A pre-walk celebration at 5 will feature entertainment, food and refreshments.
The walk will end with cookies, coffee, fireworks and music by the Southside Strays at Richland Town Centre on Theater Drive.
Individual walkers and teams may participate.
There is no registration fee, but those raising $25 or more will carry one of the society’s illuminated balloons.
