The Rev. Donald R. Brauer has been named pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, 159 Chandler Ave., Johnstown.

Rosie Colosi has had a desire to perform old-time musicals ever since she can remember. She will get her wish when she makes her Mountain Playhouse debut as the female lead in “The Pajama Game.” The musical opens Tuesday and continues through Aug. 2.

The fourth annual Johnstown Film and Wine Festival will be held at 6:30 tonight at Johnstown Flood Museum, 304 Washington St., downtown Johnstown, and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Discovery Center, 201 Sixth Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

Organizers of the Jackson Heritage Festival are rolling out the welcome mat for their sixth annual jam-packed event. The activities will begin at 6 p.m. July 17 and continue through 9:30 p.m. July 19 at Veterans Memorial Park on Adams Avenue in Vinco. Visitors will discover a full lineup of entertainment, food and craft items during the rain or shine event.

Elements from popular films will figure into a movie-themed special events package for children at a local arts center. In conjunction with its summer camps, Community Arts Center of Cambria County, 1217 Menoher Blvd., Westmont, will hold an extra class zeroing in on a kid-friendly flick at the end of each day. Movie classes will be held from July 14 through Aug. 13, and children do not have to attend the arts camp to come to the special events, said Lida Hood, education coordinator for the arts center.
