RELIGION IN BRIEF | Emmanuel Baptist sets prayer breakfast

A men’s prayer breakfast will be held at 7:30 today in The Zone at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 425 Luther Road, Richland Township.

The breakfast is open to men of all ages, with a free continental-style breakfast.

Ernest Fetzer will speak.

He is the school principal, athletic director and track and football coach at Penn Cambria High School, Cres-son.

Fetzer also is involved with the fellowship of Christian athlete’s school huddle program, which recently started a huddle off campus in the Penn Cambria area.

Gospel concert Sunday in Rockwood

The Itzel family of Westminster, Md., will present a gospel concert during the 9 a.m. Sunday church service at Trinity Reformed Church of Rockwood, Main and Market streets.

A love offering will be taken for the Itzel family and CDs and other Christian items will be available for sale.

Church to celebrate spiritual renewal days

Moxham Church of the Brethren, 536 Grove Ave., Johnstown, will celebrate April Spiritual Renewal Days at 10:10 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Russ Peruso, associate pastor at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, will minister through music and messages on the spiritual meaning of Israel’s tabernacle.

Spring Meadow books evangelist

International Evangelist Carl Richardson will speak during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Spring Meadow Family Worship Center, Route 56, Fishertown.

Kaufman Mennonite to host concert

The vocal trio of Stephanie Berkey, Kristen Lloyd and Steve St. Clair will perform a sacred music concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Kaufman Mennonite Church, 916 Miller Picking Road, Davidsville.

The concert will feature hymn arrangements and contemporary songs.

The trio will talk about their upcoming mission trip to Northern Ireland.

First Lutheran recital to feature pianist

First Lutheran Church will celebrate 100 years of ministry through music with a recital featuring Sean Gibson, pianist, at noon Tuesday at the church, 415 Vine St. in downtown Johnstown.

A light luncheon will follow in the social hall.

An offering will be accepted.

Healing service Wednesday in Windber

Interfaith Spiritual Healing Meditations, presented by the Institute of Integrative Medicine at Winder Medical Center, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 605 Graham Ave., Windber.

Women’s conference at Emmanuel Baptist

Emmanuel Baptist Church in Richland Township will present a women’s conference, “A New Kind of Normal,” featuring international speaker and author Carol Kent, from 6 to 9 p.m. May 15 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 16.

The cost is $30 per person and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.

Registration deadline is Friday.
