Fit as a fiddle

The Chamber Music Series of Greater Johnstown will close its season with virtuoso violinist Ann Fontanella at 7 tonight at First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln St., downtown Johnstown.

Fontanella, along with her piano accompanist David Pasbrig, will conduct a master class for violin students at 2:30.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for students.

Watercolor wanderings

A collection of watercolors by Mary F. Lessard will be on display through May 23 at the Commons Art Gallery at Forest Hills Elementary School, Sidman.

Venetian tryouts

Auditions for Band of Brothers Shakespeare Company’s “Merchant of Venice” will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Tioga Street pavilion at Stackhouse Park, Westmont.

The production will be staged at 7 p.m. July 11 and 12 and July 16-19 at Stackhouse.

Shining singing

“On This Shining Night,” the spring concert of Greater Johnstown Community Chorus, will be presented at 7 tonight at First Lutheran Church, 415 Vine St., downtown Johnstown, and at 7 p.m. Saturday at Arcadia Theater, 1418 Graham Ave., Windber.

Tickets are $10 at the door, $8 for those 55 and older and $7 in advance.

Dramatic duo

“Noises Off,” a comedy that shows the backstage workings of a play, will be presented by the Forest Hills drama department at 7:30 tonight through Sunday in the high school auditorium, Sidman.

Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students in high school and younger.

“The Sounds of Broadway: 65 Years of the Great White Way,” a musical dinner theater featuring signature numbers from some of Broadway’s greatest shows, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. May 30-31 and June 1.

Dinner-theater tickets, which are $12 for adults and $10 for students in high school and younger, will go on sale Thursday.

Tickets for the show only are $6 for adults and $4 for students in high school and younger.

Band of Brothers memberships are $15 for seniors and students, $20 for individuals, $30 for couples, $50 for households and $100 for gold memberships.
