Logan Benjamin Donahey, son of Ben and Robin Donahey of Sebastian, Fla., has been appointed to the Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn.
Donahey, who attends Sebastian River High School, is the grandson of June Gelet of Johnstown and Linda Werfel of Berlin.
Army Sgt. Eric A. Stack, son of Larry J. Stack of Johnstown and Julie K. Stack of Springfield, Mo., is an infantry operations supervisor with the Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division based at Fort Stewart, Ga.
He has been deployed as a member of Task Force Marine and serving a 15-month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Stack is a 2003 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School.
Benjamin Leonard, son of Paul and Mindy Leonard of Johnstown, has received the Army ROTC Superior Cadet Decoration, Bison
Battalion, as the outstanding cadet in the sophomore class at Susquehanna University.
Leonard is a leader of the Ranger Challenge Team and received his wings as a graduate of Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga.
He also was named to the dean’s list, earned a varsity letter as a member of the Susquehanna University baseball team and is a member of Principal Development team in the Johnstown AAABA League.
Navy Seaman Recruit Amanda G. Edmiston, daughter of Pamela G. Edmiston of Johnstown and Robert S. Edmiston of Hagerstown, Md., has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Jared M. Dull, son of Clifford Dull of Johnstown and Christine Ifft of Ephrata, Lancaster County, has enlisted in the Navy under the delayed entry program at Navy Recruiting District, Pittsburgh.
Dull will report to basic training at the Navy’s Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
He is a 2007 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.
Air Force Airman Scott M. Bennett II, son of Scott and Cathy Bennett of Johnstown, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
He is a 2007 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.
Army Pvt. John Z. Rodriguez, son of Kathleen Heider of Johnstown, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
He is a 2007 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.
Navy Fireman Landon C. Day, son of Glenn Day of Loretto and Maryann Day of Johnstown, has departed on a scheduled deployment as part of the Peleliu Expeditionary Strike Group while assigned to the guided-missile cruiser USS Cape St. George in San Diego.
Day is a 2004 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, Ebensburg.
He joined the Navy in December 2006.
