SUCCESS STORIES | Purchase Line grad named to dean's list

Cherie L. Kachmarchi, daughter of Jerry and Linda Kachmarchi of Cherry Tree, has been named to the spring dean’s list at Duquesne University.

She is a sophomore in the Mylan School of Pharmacy.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who have maintained at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale with no grade lower than a C. Kachmarchi’s GPA for the spring semester was 3.9.

She is a 2006 graduate of Purchase Line High School.

Forest Hills grad in honors organization

Heather Nicole Oshersky of Beaverdale has been recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization at West Virginia University.

She is the daughter of Paul “Rick” and Connie Oshersky and the granddaughter of Donald and Brigette Holgash, all of Beaver-dale.

A 2007 graduate of Forest Hills High School, Sidman, Oshersky is a pre-pharmacy major at WVU, where she was named to the spring 2008 and fall 2007 dean’s lists.

She also is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, WVU Student Pharmacy Association and Mountaineer Maniacs.

She occasionally works at the Forest Hills Pharmacy, Sidman.

Somerset student gets pharmacy degree

James Gottschalk Jr. of Somerset has earned a doctor of pharmacy degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy.

He is the son of James and Donna Gottschalk of Listie.

Johnstown man on dean’s list

Brett Kassander, son of George and Lynn Kassander

of Johnstown, has been named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University.

This fall, Kassander will be a senior majoring in criminal justice.

Kassander is a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
