The first professional reading of the winning entry in this year’s Mountain Playhouse International Comedy Playwriting Contest will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the playhouse in Jennerstown.

“One Golden Moment” was written by 82-year-old William S.E. Coleman of Des Moines, Iowa.

After the reading, Coleman will receive the Grindstone Award and a $3,000 cash prize.

Coleman grew up near New Kensington, Westmoreland County, and received degrees from Slippery Rock and Penn State universities and the University of Pittsburgh.

Admission to the reading and presentation is free.

The public also is invited to a complimentary reception, which will be held in the Tuscany Room at Green Gables Restaurant, following the presentation.
