Crafty festival

The 38th Log House Arts Festival will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Community Arts Center of Cambria County, 1217 Menoher Blvd., Westmont.

There will be 110 juried crafters, 20 of them first-time vendors.

There will be children’s activities and plenty of food and entertainment.

Admission is free.

A Little Yellow School Bus shuttle will run between the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Upper Yoder Township and the arts center every 20 minutes.

The family-friendly festival will feature new and returning entertainment and plenty of crafts, food and children’s activities.

All’s fair

The 117th Cambria County Fair will be held Sunday through Sept. 6 at the fairgrounds along old Route 219 north, one-half mile from Ebensburg.

One-price admission is $8.

Tickets will be available at the gate.

There will be free admission until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Country performers are James Otto at 4 and 8 p.m. Sunday, Matt Jenkins at 4 and 8 p.m. Monday and Chris Young at 4 and 8 p.m. Sept. 6.

Musclin’ in

Cruisin’ the Flood City, sponsored by Laurel Highlands Mopar Club, will begin at noon Saturday on downtown Johnstown streets near Central Park.

Muscle cars, antiques, classics, motorcycles and trucks will be on display.

There will be musical entertainment, children’s activities and an auction.

Gospel in music

The Fall Harvest Gospel Music Festival will be held today through Monday at Camp Harmony, 1414 Plank Road, Hooversville.

Gospel singers from Pennsylvania as well as Florida and Missouri will perform.

Singing will be held from 7 to 11 tonight, 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 1 to 6 p.m. Monday.

Camp sites and children’s activities will be available.

Living art

“Life Through Art” will be on display today through Sunday at Art Works in Johnstown, 413 Third Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

The exhibit features the works of three past masters, Ralph Clemenson, Evelyn Picking and Vera Little, and two present masters, Jean O’Malley and Sally Stewart.

An opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 tonight. Other viewing hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Art of the future will feature works by Norman Ed, T.K. Mundok, Holly Lees, Anna Coughenour, Lorraine Bezy and others.

Music will be provided by John Thorell and Matt Miller, and dance will be provided by Johnstown Concert Ballet.

Benefit bartending

Celebrity Bartender Nightfeaturing Bryan Barbin of Johnstown Fire Department Local 463 will be held from 9:30 p.m. to midnight tonight at the Haven Lounge, Southmont Boulevard, Johnstown.

All of Barbin’s tips will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Fearful tryouts

Auditions for Star Productions at St. Francis University’s production of “Something Wicked: A ShakesFeare Grotesque” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the studio basement of Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art on the university’s Loretto campus.

No memorized selection is required. Reading and preparation time will be provided.

Sing for freedom

An American Freedom concert will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lakemont Park, Altoona.

The concert will feature Nashville recording artist Ricky Lee and the Mustangs and will benefit the Veterans of Foreign War’s national military assistance program, which serves American military personnel and their families.

Elvis impersonator J.J. Hancock will open the show. Gates open at 5:30.

Tickets are $10 and include admission to the park’s ride-and-slide feature.

Rollicking rocker

Rock legend Ted Nugent will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Grey Rocks Amphitheater, Seven Springs Resort, 777 Water Wheel Drive, Champion.

Tickets are $33 for reserved seating and $22 for lawn seating.

Gloriously off-key

“Glorious!” the true story of New York socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, will be staged at 2 and 8 p.m. today, 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Playhouse, Jennerstown.
