MILITARY IN BRIEF

Airman 1st Class Deborah M. Korenoski of Johnstown has received the Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding service and achievement as an aerospace medical service journeyman in the intensive care unit at Balad Air Force Base in Iraq.

She joined the military in November 2007.



Marine Corps Pvt. John A. Redvay, son of Tom J. and Diane K. Redvay of Johnstown, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.



Army Pvt. Josey O. Stull, son of Glenn and Joyce Stull of Johnstown, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.



Air Force Airman Ashley E. Mash, daughter of Beth Williams of Mineral Point, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

She is a 2007 graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School.



Coast Guard Seaman Rex A. Baker Jr., son of Rex A. and Ilene Rex of Markleton, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

Baker is a 2008 graduate of Rockwood Area High School.



Air Force Airman Maurice E. Jones, son of Maurice Jones Sr. and Beth Dale, both of Johnstown, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Jones is a 2007 graduate of Greater Johnstown High School.



James M. Trexler, son of Cathy J. Trexler of Cresson, has received an Air Force ROTC college scholarship.

He is a 2008 graduate of Penn Cambria High School, Cresson.



Justin L. Silvis, son of James R. Silvis and Joanne Cramer, both of South Fork, has enlisted in the Army National Guard under the delayed-entry program.

Silvis is a 2007 graduate of Forest Hills High School, Sidman.

He is attending basic training at Fort Sill, Okla.
