“Nunsense,” the hit musical comedy celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, Richland Township.

The silver edition of the zany show stars award-winning actress Sally Struthers.

Michael L. Bodolosky, arts center executive director, said “Nunsense” is a classic.

“It’s hilarious,” he said.

Struthers, best known for her performances in the television series “All in the Family,” also starred in the Fox series “9 to 5” and in her own CBS series “Gloria.” She had recurring roles in the CBS comedy “Still Standing” and in CW’s highly acclaimed “Gilmore Girls.”

Her first two Broadway forays were in “Wally’s Caf” with Rita Moreno and Jimmy Coco and in Neil Simon’s female version of “The Odd Couple” with Brenda Vaccaro.

“Nunsense” begins as the Little Sisters of Hoboken learn that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 fellow sisters.

Money must be raised immediately for burials and the sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show.

The Little Sisters of Hoboken take over a high school auditorium and here the audience meets Rev. Mother Mary Regina (Struthers), who is a former circus performer.

Other players are Sister Mary Hubert, mistress of novices; Sister Robert Anne, a streetwise nun from Brooklyn; Sister Mary Leo, a novice and wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, a nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head.

A limited number of tickets remain for the performance, Bodolosky said.

Tickets are $39. Discount tickets at $37 are available to those 62 and older and to members of the Pitt- Johnstown Alumni Association. Tickets for students and children are $33.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Pasquerilla ArtsLine at (800) 846-2787 or 269-7200 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The box office is open for in-person sales on the same schedule. Tickets also are available online at www.upjarts.com.
