SUCCESS STORIES | Collegian earns master's degree

Chelica Lynn (Hohman) Hiltunen, daughter of Brian Hohman of Johnstown and Michele Pursley of Michigan, has earned a master’s degree in biblical studies from Trinity Western University, British Columbia, Canada.

She earned a second master’s degree in modern Hebrew at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

Hiltunen reads Greek, Latin and Syriac.

Upon returning to British Columbia, she will pursue a doctorate in languages and theology.

Hiltunen attended Central Catholic School in Johnstown.

She is the granddaughter of Irene Varnish of Johnstown and the late Martha Hohman.

Clarion students are on homecoming court

Brittany Popchak, daughter of Matthew and Teresa Popchak of Johnstown, and Brad Lepley, son of Debbie Lepley of Boswell, are members of the homecoming court at Clarion University.

Popchak, a sophomore elementary education major, is a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School.

Lepley, a freshman accounting major, is a graduate of North Star High School, Boswell.

Clarion junior is member of band

Breanne Slocum, a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School, is a member of the Clarion University Golden Eagle Marching Band.

Slocum, a junior majoring in theater, is a band manager.
