Masterful composers

“Past and Present Masters” will be presented by Johnstown Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, Richland Township.

The guest soloist will be pianist Ran Dank.

Tickets are $25, $30 and $35 for adults and $10 for students.

America’s heroes

The 16th annual Veterans Day Parade, sponsored by Conemaugh Valley Veterans, will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in downtown Johnstown.

The parade will begin at Main and Union streets and proceed up Main Street to Clinton Street, where it will disband.

The program in Central Park will begin after the parade, with Marine Corps Col. Ed Wojnaroski Jr., an Iraq war veteran, as the main speaker.

The Marine Corps League will conduct the flag-raising ceremony. Krista Todd will sing “God Bless America.” Capt. Michael Cerula, an Iraq war veteran, will give the invocation and benediction.

Cheering on

Richland Cheer Classic will be held Saturday at Richland High School, One Academic Ave., Richland Township.

Pitt-Johnstown’s Cheer and Dance Classic will be held Sunday at UPJ Sports Center, Richland Township.

Stamp of approval

Johnstown Stamp Club will hold a show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Senior Activities Center, 550 Main St., downtown Johnstown.

There will be various stamp dealers, and the Post Office will sell special stamps and memorabilia.

Good cause

CamTran is sponsoring a food and clothing drive today  through Sunday at the Inclined Plane, 711 Edgehill Drive, Westmont.

Participants will be able to ride the Inclined Plane free of charge with the donation of a nonperishable food item or new winter coat, hat or gloves.

Free music

Slippery Rock University Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Pasquerilla Performing Arts Center, Richland Township.

The collegiate musical program is free.

Artistic kids

Art Classes for Kids will be held Saturday and Nov. 17 at The Learning Lamp, 2025 Bedford St., Stonycreek Township.  

Children in prekindergarten to kindergarten will meet from 9 to 10 a.m., and children in Grades 1-3 will be in session from 10:30 to 11:30.

Tuition for both age groups is $25.

Extended classes for Grades 4 and older will be held Saturdays from noon to 1:30 p.m., and tuition will be $38.  

All tuition includes cost of supplies.
