Turkey time

A harvest dinner and turkey giveaway will be held Saturday at Camp Sequanota, off Route 30, west of Jennerstown.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 5:30 and giveaways at 6:15.

Soup’s on

A homemade soup and bread sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at New Florence Senior Center, 216 Ligonier St., New Florence.

Ham and bean or vegetable beef soup and bread should be ordered as soon as possible.

Bread will be available by order only.  

Soup is $5 a quart, and bread is $2 a loaf.

Christmas crafts

The annual Christmas Craft Shoppe will open to the public Saturday through Dec. 19 at Laurel Arts, 214 S. Harrison Ave., Somerset.

In celebration of the opening, Saturday’s extended hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The shop gives shoppers an opportunity to purchase unique, handmade local art, including cards, jewelry, pottery and papercuttings.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Holiday homes

Somerset Welfare League’s 2012 Holiday House Tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at various homes in and around downtown Somerset.

Bluegrass night

Bedford County Arts Council will present Frost Mountain Revival for its Friday Night Music Series at 7:30 tonight at  the Anderson House, 137 E. Pitt St., Bedford.

Frost Mountain Revival is a high-energy bluegrass band based in Frostburg, Md.

The band incorporates gospel, old time, new-grass and modern folk into its music, using vocals, guitar, banjo, mandolin and upright bass.

The donation is $5 at the door.

Star performers

A Superstars Show featuring tributes to Elton John, Billy Joel and Neil Diamond will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Ligonier Theater, 208 W. Main St., Ligonier.

Chris Denem will portray Neil Diamond, and Lee Alverson will portray Elton John and Billy Joel.

Tickets are $15.
