Fall fun

The annual harvest festival will be held during October at Faranda’s Farm, 1171 Penn Ave., Hollsopple.

Hours are 4 p.m. to dusk Fridays, 11 a.m. to dusk Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays.

Fun Farm admission is $11 for adults and youngsters and free for children younger than 2.

Barnyard admission is $7 for adults and youngsters and free for children younger than 2.

Vale Wood Farms Pumpkin Patch will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 20 at the farm at 517 Vale Wood Road, Loretto.

There will be family-friendly activities such as a straw bale maze, giant corn box, meet the baby calf, corn maze and games.

Locally grown fall decorations will include pumpkins, gourds, mums, cornstalks, straw bales and Indian corn.

Dairy store treats will feature pumpkin pie and apple pie ice cream and apple dumplings.

Admission is $3 per person, with ages 2 and younger admitted free.

Weekend hayride farm tours are an additional $2 per person, with ages 2 and younger also admitted free.

Hoover’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze will be open from 10 a.m. to dusk daily through Nov. 2 at 772 Carroll Road, Patton.

Flashlight tours through the corn maze will be offered Friday and Saturday evenings, with the last admission at 8.

Admission is $5 to the corn maze, and prices vary for pumpkins.

A portion of the funds will benefit Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger.

Idlewild’s Hallowboo will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Oct. 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 at the amusement park on Route 30  in Ligonier.

There will be trick-or-treat through Story Book Forest and themed rides and attractions.

Shows will include “Rock the Graveyard” at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. at the Hillside Theater; “Molly’s Wacky Witch’s Brew” at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. at the Gazebo Stage; “Hallowboo Hoedown at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. at Story Book Forest entrance; and “Monster Mash” at the Hillside Theater immediately following the 6 p.m. Rock the Graveyard show.

Tickets are $29.99 plus tax or $24.99 for general admission and $22.99 senior citizens online.
