JOHNSTOWN — Michael Reynolds will be ordained during the 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at Central City Christian Church, 247 Lambert St.

He is the son of Randy and Irene Reynolds of Central City.

Festivities Monday at St. James church

Worship Arts Ministries will present “First Night” New Year’s Eve celebration, featuring a mass choir, children’s choir, dance, puppet and

Mime Ministries, at 10 p.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 400 Pine St., Johnstown.

A watch night service will follow.

Chiz Rider in concert at Boswell church

Chiz Rider will present a New Year’s Eve concert at 7 at Christian Community Church of Boswell.

The choir will sing “Joy Hallelujah!” under the direction of Traci Weaver.

The Rev. Larry Rowe will deliver the sermon “Waiting and Witnessing,” with Scripture from Luke 2:22-40, during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday worship service at First United Methodist Church, 436 Vine St., Johnstown.

Church organist Tom Ferguson will present an organ recital.

The Rev. Roger Myers will be the guest speaker during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Grace Brethren Church, Oak and Second streets, East Conemaugh.

He will talk about the many precious names given to baby Jesus in the Old Testament.

The Rev. Deb Groeger will deliver the message “Goodness is Stronger,” taken from John 1:1-14, during the Sunday worship services at Grove Avenue United Methodist Church, 501 Grove Ave. in the Moxham section of Johnstown.

A contemporary worship service, with music provided by Eclectic Praise Band, under the direction of Denise Baldwin, will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a time of fellowship.

Adult Sunday school will begin at 9:15 and children’s Sunday school will begin at 9:30.

Traditional worship service will begin at 10:45.

The choir, led by Judy Custer, organist and choir director, will sing the anthem.

Nursery will be available with Mandy Gonzales as the coordinator.
