JOHNSTOWN — Indiana/Cambria County hymn sing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Blacklick Presbyterian Church, Blair and Walnut streets, Blairsville.

Choir fest/hymn sing Sunday in Ebensburg

A choir fest/hymn sing will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Ebensburg United Methodist Church, 100 E. Highland Ave.

An offering will be taken to benefit United Methodist Human Services.

‘Spirituality and Music’ focus of lecture series

The Rev. Stephen Concordia, OSB, will speak on “Spirituality and Music” during a lecture series on Aging and Spirituality at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Fred M. Rogers Center at St. Vincent College, Latrobe.

Priest to discuss human rights issues

The Rev. Guillermo Campuzano, CM, director of religious diversity for DePaul University, will present “Humanization of Our Inhuman World: A Call for Today” at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Cecilian Hall of the administration building on Seton Hill University hilltop campus in Greensburg.

Women’s breakfast planned in Portage

A women’s breakfast and fellowship to “Celebrate the Resurrected Jesus” will be held April 20 at Sacred Heart Retreat Center, 1872 Munster Road, Portage.

Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m., followed by registration and breakfast at 8:30.

Marriage preparation weekend for couples

Engaged Couples Weekend will be held from April 26-28 at St. John the Baptist Retreat Center in New Baltimore.

The weekend will fulfill the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown’s marriage preparation requirement.

Holy Communion will be celebrated during the service with the Confirmation class and adults who are joining the church.

The Rev. Len Findley will deliver the message “Giving Away God’s Mercy,” with Scripture from Luke 10:25-37, at the 10:40 a.m. Sunday worship service at Ferndale United Methodist Church, 701 Vickroy Ave., Johnstown.

Holy Communion will be celebrated during the service with the Confirmation class and adults who are joining the church.

The choir will sing “Yes, My Jesus Loves Me,” directed by Traci Weaver.

A Communion service will be held at 5:30 tonight and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church, 415 Vine St., Johnstown.

Pastor Eleanor Abarno will preach on John 21. The bell choir will play during the Sunday service.

-- First Presbyterian

Dave Thomas, administrator of the Presbyterian Home, will speak during the 10:45 a.m. Sunday worship service at First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln St., Johnstown.

Sunday school will begin at 9:30.

-- Flood City

Brad Westover, lead pastor, will continue the sermon series “The Blessed Life,” with a message “Multiply and Subtract”  during the 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at Flood City Church, 1723 Scalp Ave., Johnstown.

-- Good Shepherd

A worship service will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 514 Shady Lane, Windber.

Adult Sunday school will begin at 8:45 and kids Sunday school will be held during the service.

-- Grove Avenue UM

The Rev. Ed Schoeneck will deliver the message “Resurrected From Despair,” taken from John 21:1-19, during the Sunday services at Grove Avenue United Methodist Church,

501 Grove Ave. in the Moxham section of Johnstown.

A contemporary worship service will begin at 9 a.m., followed by fellowship.

Adult Sunday school will begin at 9:15.

Children and youth Sunday schools will begin at 9:30.

A traditional worship service will begin at 10:45, with Judy Custer, organist and choir director, leading the choir in singing an anthem.

-- Laurel Trinity

The Rev. Traci Bowman will officiate worship services with Holy Communion at 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. Sunday at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church,

7520 Somerset Pike, Jennerstown.

Sunday school will begin at 10.

“A Wing & A Player” Bible study will be held at 6:30 Tuesday.

Bible study will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Coal Miner’s Cafe in Jennerstown.

The Rev. Guy Myers will speak on “Four Members Every Church Needs,” with Scripture from Acts 2:36-41, at the 8:15 and 10:35 a.m. Sunday services at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, 106 Spring Road, Hollsopple.

There will be a service of receiving new members during the 10:35 service.

6 p.m. Wednesday. Bible study will begin at 7.

The Rev. William Wenger will deliver the message “Do You Love Me?” based on Scripture from John 21:1-19, during the 10:10 a.m. Sunday worship service at Moxham Church of the Brethren, 536 Grove Ave., Johnstown.

Audrey Wenger will have storytime with the children.

The cathedral choir will sing “Calvary Is the Sea,” directed by Bette Poltrack.

Sunday school will begin at 9.

-- Moxham Lutheran

Friendship Sunday with Holy Communion will be observed during the 8:15 and 11 a.m. Sunday services at Moxham Lutheran Church, 500 Park Ave., Johnstown.

Sunday school will begin at 9:30.

Lay Communion will be taken to shut-ins and homebound Sunday.

Wednesday worship will be held at 4 p.m. in the Good News Room.

-- Park Avenue UM

The Rev. Kathleen Schoeneck will speak on “Can It Be, It Can” at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Johnstown.

Carol Santucci will be the worship leader. Mary Lou Hillegass and Anita Constable will be the greeters.

The Rev. Brian Simmons will speak on “So That at the Name of Jesus,” with Scripture from Philippians 2:9-11, during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Roxbury Church of the Brethren, 112 Sell St., Johnstown.

The cathedral choir will sing “Bring Back the Springtime,” directed by Melanie Shiley, and accompanied by Laura Krouse, pianist.

Sunday school will begin at 9:30.

Choir practice will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, followed by Bible study at 7:15.

The Rev. Wayne D. Sedei will deliver the message “Sing Praise to the Lamb,” based on Revelation 5:11-14, during the 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship services at Roxbury St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 160 Derby St., Johnstown.

The Rev. June P. Jefferies of New Life Baptist Church in Apollo, Armstrong County, will speak.

Liturgy of Holy Communion will be celebrated during the 10:15 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust St., downtown Johnstown, with Gospel reading from John 21:1-19.

Church school will begin at 9 and a time of fellowship will be held at 9:30.

A midweek Liturgy of Holy Communion will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. John’s Memorial Chapel.
