Religion in brief | Bishop McCort will sponsor Spanish Mass

JOHNSTOWN — Bishop McCort Catholic High School will hold its annual Spanish Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown.

Celebrant for the Mass will be the Rev. Carl Spishak.

Spanish language students from Bishop McCort and St. Benedict’s third-grade choir, will participate.

Advent festival at St. John Vianney

St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Route 271 in Mundys Corner, will host an Advent musical festival at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The event is sponsored by the Conemaugh Valley Ministerium.

First Baptist will show holiday movie

“Christ With a Capital ‘C’ “ will be shown at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, 995 Second St., Nanty Glo.

Refreshments will be served and a free will offering will benefit the teen ministry.

Church to hold penance service

Church of the Transfiguration, 201 Third St., Conemaugh, will hold a penance service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Blair Concert Chorale will present program

“A Ceremony of Carols,” the annual holiday concert by Blair Concert Chorale and Blair Concert Chorale Children’s Choir, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Eighth Avenue and 13th Street, Altoona.

Donations $15 for adults and $8 for students.

Armagh UM

Todd and Temmy Lee Fisher will be in concert at 7 p.m. today at Armagh United Methodist Church. A free will offering will be taken.

Believer’s Fellowship

Pastor Brian Tunstall will speak during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Believer’s Fellowship Family Church, 551 Cambria Ave., Revloc. Bill Hugill will be worship leader.

Nursery, children’s and youth church will be available.

Pastor Dick Yates will lead the Midweek Overflow at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Bethel UM

The Rev. Eddie Patterson will deliver the sermon “Fulfilling the Messenger: Righteousness,” based on Philippians 1:3-11 and Malachi 3:1-4 at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Bethel United Methodist Church, 215 Whistler St., Hollsopple. Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m.
